Manila Envelopes

I went to the Post Office and found out a way to save money when shipping out items in manila envelopes!! Do not use the metal tab on the tab. Instead, fold the flap over and just use the glue you lick inside the flap, or tape. If you use the metal tab, the Post Office automatically charges you .20!! Who knew!

Cupcake Card Tutorial

With all the goodness of cupcakes these days, I wanted to make a quick cupcake card and show you how I make mine. You will need 3 colors of paper, one for the "cake" part, one for the frosting and one for the cherry on top. I used Bazzill's brown, pink and red.

First I cut out a base from the brown for the cake, measuring 2.75" across the top, 1.5" at the bottom, and 2" in height. Next, I used my Marvy scalloped punch for the frosting, and used the pink. The size of this is 3" across and2.25" high. I attached the 2 together with tape runner. Then, I picked out a couple of different small circles, to see which size I wanted for the cherry and punched them out of the red. Neither one was what I wanted, so I taped the small one on top of the larger one and cut with my scissors inbetween. What I got was the perfect size for my cherry! A pop dot was put on the back of the "cherry" and set aside. Now, using my Stickles (I used Star Dust, but you could use any color), I put dots all around on the frosting of the cupcake. When the dots were dry ( this only takes a few minutes), I attached my "cherry" to the top. As a last embellishment, I added a pretty pink gingham bow across the bottom (I taped it to the back so it wouldn't move). This is the card I made out of my delicious real life sized cupcake!! Try it, and let me know how yours turns out! Ü

Happy Fall!! I just love the colors of Fall, so I made up some lovely cards to go with it. I have a TON of stamps, pretty much something for every occasion and usually end up making a gazillion of cards to send out. So here is my contribution today Ü I also have taken out my sewing machine again and I've been sewing everything from tags and gifts to cards. Here is a sample of one of the birthday cards I made up. I forgot how much fun sewing can be! Okay, faux stitching can be addicting too, so I added one of those beauties in also Ü Can you pick it out?

Apple Pickin'

Apple Pie, Applie Cobbler, Apple Crisp.....mmmmm!!! They all start with a basket of apples! Here is a sweet diecut I made of a basket full of crisp red apples. Perfect for a card front, layout about apple picking, or fall......maybe you're working on a project for a teacher....perfect for that, too!! Doesn't this make you hungry? Ü

So here I am thinking about what great colors that Autumn brings, and how that makes me happy. Another cycle in the year. Another season of changes and colors and temperatures and holidays. Good times.

I'm so happy with Fall and Fall colors that I'm going to be doing a give away on my blog on Friday, so if here you watching, it's time to speak up!! Ü

Just leave a comment on Friday telling me something that you and/or your family enjoys doing in the Autumn....that's it! I'll have one of the kiddos pick your name randomly and without peeking and I'll send you out a fun goody!!

A Gift In the Mail!!

I am so excited today, I received an AWESOME smelling baggy of bath salts from splashesofcolor on Etsy!! She had posted before asking for some ideas of what scents people enjoy and I had answered it. She said that she'd get us each a scent out and she didn't forget (like some do Ü). My mailman had to want to open this envelope up so bad, because it smells so wonderful, I can't wait to soak in it, and there are enough salts in here for a couple of baths!! Thank you so much splashesofcolor!!!!!!!! Oh and even more cool....she gave me a 10% coupon code for an order Ü Ü Ü You can get to her site here:

Check this out...the HUGEST dragonfly I've ever seen! In the window, and of course in the rush to take a picture, and it moving all over, I only got a couple of decent shots. It was just gorgeous. I put a penny next to it for something to compare it to. I snapped these and then let it go outside to fly away...

Meet Milo. He is a teddybear dog, and the kids have a lot of fun carting him around in whatever is handy. He loves it! He sat in this laundry basket for an hour without moving, just watching them play. Ok, just wanted to add something to have fun tonight!
