With all the goodness of cupcakes these days, I wanted to make a quick cupcake card and show you how I make mine. You will need 3 colors of paper, one for the "cake" part, one for the frosting and one for the cherry on top. I used Bazzill's brown, pink and red.
First I cut out a base from the brown for the cake, measuring 2.75" across the top, 1.5" at the bottom, and 2" in height. Next, I used my Marvy scalloped punch for the frosting, and used the pink. The size of this is 3" across and2.25" high. I attached the 2 together with tape runner. Then, I picked out a couple of different small circles, to see which size I wanted for the cherry and punched them out of the red. Neither one was what I wanted, so I taped the small one on top of the larger one and cut with my scissors inbetween. What I got was the perfect size for my cherry! A pop dot was put on the back of the "cherry" and set aside. Now, using my Stickles (I used Star Dust, but you could use any color), I put dots all around on the frosting of the cupcake. When the dots were dry ( this only takes a few minutes), I attached my "cherry" to the top. As a last embellishment, I added a pretty pink gingham bow across the bottom (I taped it to the back so it wouldn't move). This is the card I made out of my delicious real life sized cupcake!! Try it, and let me know how yours turns out! Ü
